Hello again, now that we all know how the blood circulates through the heart, we need to learn normal and abnormal heart sounds.  A good place for this is http://depts.washington.edu/physdx/heart/demo.html  Please be sure to visit this site it is an excellant learning experience.  Have fun!

Well another very productive week.  I am hoping that everyone is able to identify normal heart sounds after listening to the audio.  If you are unsure the audio is available in the skills lab as is the animated presentation of cardiac circulation.  The circulation will be included on the midterm exam so be sure you know it.  On a happier not, I will be showing you some movies next class so bring the popcorn :)

Hello students, so far we have had a great week :)  I wanted to tell you that if you find any research articles that pertain to the unit we are studying, please bring them to class and we will read and evaluate them as time allows, I forgot to tell you during class, that's the advantage of having this blog.  Don't forget that you can use this blog to ask questions.  See you in class.

Hello everyone, well we had a very productive week and I know it was very busy, there are a lot of things you need to be familiar with in adult health nursing before your first clinical experience.  You each went to the skills lab and checked off on the basic assessment and patient care skills but if you are still uncomfortable performing any of these skills, go back to the lab and practice, practice, practice.  Practice on your friends and family, they won't mind.  Your first clinical is in 3 weeks and I want you to be confident in the basics.  If you have any problems let me know, I'll be happy to help you.  Have a good weekend, Ms. Carole.

Yes!  Learning is an experience, a collaborative experience.  We are going to collaborate this semester, both electronically and face-to-face.  I want to reiterate that I am available to you, there is NO such thing as a dumb question.  You can ask your questions here, on our blog, or when we meet and you also have my phone number.
We are going to have a great semester and learn a lot together.
